@debmomof3 We do last-minute quick overnight or wknd trips to visit friends all the time. Have never done a ‘bigger’ trip last-minute (yet).

OUR LATEST VIDEOS

@CindyRichards Now that kids are teens,  biggest challenge is getting them to ditch school to hang w/ their slacker mom.

@ramblingstump It wasn’t a family trip but on work trip I bought a 1 way ticket there, drove to next place & forgot to buy ticket home.

@CindyRichards I don’t really book last minute. I just go.

@luxurytravelmom I have lived in one pair of flip flops & slippers all month-also haven’t blown hair dry in 3 weeks.

@kimorlando One time I didn’t book hotel for night we landed in LA so we’re in iHop parking lot (only wifi) searching at 9pm.
WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR PACKING A FAMILY FAST?

@ramblingstump Have one person bring the kids out. Pack while they are gone. One outfit per ziploc bag. Impossible to pack w kids around.

@debbutterflys I am so ocd organized my trip packing lists r in excel, just print out and check off. Done a lot of rv trips.

@heatheracts Enlist everyone’s help and make a list as you go. Reading over a list helps me realize when something is left out.

@barblikos Save all those little samples from stores & mailers. Toss them in a “travel” drawer.

@twokidsandamap I have the kids grab their stuff to pack. I tell them to go get three shirts. When they come back, I give them a new item & so on.

@WeekendinParis Keep a canvas bag w/each kid’s name on it & have them pack off a preprinted list x how many days the trip is for.

@desertchica Keeping toiletry bags packed and ready to go, definitely makes last minute trip packing faster!

@luxurytravelmom When Southwest had $39 fares I took off with panties and a toothbrush in my backpack.
WHAT HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHEN BOOKING A LAST MINUTE TRIP? WHAT HAPPENED?

@ConnieFoggles . I hate to admit this, but all of my meds. And it was Christmas.

@iDreamofJenn I forgot my wallet in the car once as I got dropped at the airport; had to call the fam back to hand it to me.

@barblikos You know what I hate forgetting? Headphones. Makes me cranky. Cranky Barb is not a pleasant traveler.

@YoliRealtor2 Notify my bank that there will be out of state charges; I was once in Vegas and they closed my account!

@twokidsandamap Somebody always forgets PJs during a last min trip. Proves to be interesting predicament depending on our travel partners. 😉

@RagdollKitty87 Nice feminine shoes, only packed hiking boots for my entire trip it was terrible.

@SPN_mom My phone, had to turn around and go back to get it.
WHAT ARE YOUR TRAVEL TIPS FOR SAVING $$ ON A LAST MINUTE TRIP?

@bbpinktaz For road trips, we always packed a cooler w/ snacks & drinks to save money.

@PaulEisenberg Check rates at/near big convention center hotels when no conventions are in town. You can get a sweet room for a lot less.

@DesertChica I also look at the popular deals site for cheap trips from our hometown. Then google cheap/free the destination for ideas!

@AnujadeSilva I’m checking deals like a maniac! So many combinations with travel & lodging.

@HillHouseRock Never be afraid to ask for a discount or an upgrade, if you’re nice about it, they’re very accommodating!

@twokidsandamap I always wanted to try one of those last min cruise deals but never had the chance. Priceline has helped us save $ last min.

@Happymom730 Always check the website and all their social media for discounts and look for coupons in area you are going.

@iDreamofJenn Sign up for those fare alerts; check for deals like flight-hotel-car or like combos.

@CindyRichards Be nice to the people who have the power to make your life better. Like front desk clerk who can give u room upgrades.
WHAT WAS YOUR BEST (OR WORST) LAST MINUTE TRIP? WHY?
