California has lots to offer traveling moms and is a great family vacation destination. Here are five kid-friendly and family-friendly spots in the Golden State.
Wishon: Yosemite Family Camp – Just 15 miles from Yosemite National Park, families stay in comfy lakeside cabins while enjoying crafts, horsebackriding, tennis, volleyball and other activities.
Hermosa Beach: Good Stuff – a divey surfer’s café on the strand serviing incredible pancakes and veggie burgers. If you are there in the summer, learn how to surf with the experts at Chevron Surf Camp.
Santa Barbara: Santa Barbara Zoo – One of the few places where your kids can hand-feed a giraffe.
Palos Verdes: South Coast Botanic Garden. There are 87 acres of fun with species of plants from all over the world. Children’s Discovery Garden, duck ponds, abundant wildlife and bird populations. See as little or as much as you like.
Los Angeles: Skirball Cultural Center – With exhibits that change frequently there is always something new to do. Permanent Noah’s Ark exhibit is fun for kids of all ages. Allows kids to climb, and do hands on “work” on a version of Noah’s Ark made from recycled materials.
