Memorial Day is the best day to honor our brave veterans and for some of us, it is also a much needed three day weekend. We talked about our Memorial weekend plans at our May 21 Monday Night Twitter Party. Our moms chatted about the farthest we traveled on a three day weekend, where we’re going this year and our dream weekend getaways. Just a friendly warning that your mouth may water when you read what’s on our tweeters menu for the big day.


Where are you headed Memorial Day Weekend? Why?

@TammiLaney: We are going to a local beach to swim and cookout.

 ?@4hatsandfrugal: We are going to Ohio to see the in-laws. We do it every year.

@judy511 Philly- great 4 families.

@GeekDad248:  Going to be in DC!

@MelissaBuonanno:: We are heading to Las Vegas for a little bit just to chill.


How do you get the most out of a 3-day weekend?

?@4hatsandfrugal: By planning! if you have a game plan for each day, you can get the most out of a holiday weekend.

?@MelissaBuonanno: Just taking it as it comes and not stressing about changes.

@Techtembo888: Wake up earlier!

@marilola33:  By enjoying and sharing good moments with the family.

@TammiLaney: Try to do as much fun stuff as we can Saturday and Sunday and rest on Monday!


How do you honor veterans on Memorial Day?

@judy511: Going to memorial in Breezy Point, NY (home early, too)

@4hatsandfrugal: By giving myself as much of a break as possible. I am a veteran lol

@Tink4everbell: Going to memorial festival.

@GratefulHoops: I fly the flag and wear red white and blue!

@busyVAmom: I am a veteran, so was my father in law, and so was my grandfather, so we just talk about our service.


What’s your dream 3-day destination? Why?

@martiferg:_Maybe a cruise. That would be about the max I would want to leave my girls for.

@marilola33: I would go to San Francisco cause I have never been there and it sounds amazing

@Techtembo888: I'd love to go to Macchu Picchu, heard its beautiful.

@kjmaje: Great Wolf Lodge. We've never been there and it looks awesome!


What’s the farthest you’ve traveled on a 3-day weekend?

@mom4everandever: I went from Cali to St Thomas- surfed, snorkeled, slept on plane on way back.

@fowler121600: We traveled 7 hours to Mt Olive, Mississippi.

@TammiLaney: About 7 hours to Panama City Beach.

?@KCEdventures: From KC to New York in a small Toyota with our dog - quite a trip.

?@DebMomOf3: We went to Washington DC for hubby's birthday about 8 years ago. Only time he's ever flown. Fun trip but so busy to pack all in 3 days.


What’s on your Memorial Day Menu?

@abbebrown: Hubby's gooey burgers so good and corn on the grill! Ice cream of course too!

@TammiLaney: Steaks,Hamburgers,and Hotdogs on the grill!

@sweetmatcha: Hot dogs, brisket, salmon, shrimp and fruit salad, watermelon slush.

@GratefulHoops: We're doing steak shishkebobs with zucchini squash peppers onions and tomatoes over brown rice and grilled corn! 

@MelissaBuonanno: Whatever the Bellagio happens to be serving and Serendipity 3 for brunch.

@Techtembo888: We got a smoker so going to have ribs!
