At our
Mother’s Day themed Twitter party, several traveling moms suggested that Mother’s Day is too short – we should have a week. Whether your celebration is limited to a few hours on the second Sunday in May, or your family plans elaborate, days-long celebrations, it is clear that TravelingMoms have very definite ideas about how to celebrate motherhood.
During our May 2 Twitter party, moms weighed in about traveling with their moms, and as moms themselves.

WHAT DID U LEARN FROM UR MOM ABOUT TRAVELING W/ KIDS?
@CindyRichards: Don't go camping. She spent a week getting everything ready and another week cleaning it up when we got back! ?
@nancyberk Don't bring teen girls camping if they are hauling curling irons and portable B & W TVs. It was the '70's.
@familyfoodie Travel during the night when they are young.

WHAT DO YOU DO DIFFERENTLY WHEN TRAVELING W/ UR OWN KIDS?
@anneatcsuite My parents were older and I had to do some things by myself. I like to participate fully w/my kids, even if it embarrasses them :)
@WorkMomTravels Started travel w/ my daughter way earlier than my parents did with us.
@greenwooddavis I go further and I'll go with one kid on my own. Never alone with 2 though. Brave not crazy.;)
@kymri Actually being home (or travelling) WITH my family makes for a perfect Mother's Day
@cindyrichards My perfect Mother's Day is one in which I don't have to be responsible for ANYTHING.
@Nancy Donnelly Having my kids say,we love u mom! ...Now can we play our video games?
And, like good moms around the world, we have our priorities straight
@ramblingstump: My idea of a perfect Mother’s Day is good food, good wine, and family.
@DanielleLeitch Agreed, but I'd put wine first.
And, a final note from @kymri: Mother's Day can last all week, by the way ;)
