Make sure you drink enough fluids every day, whether you're at home or on the road. If you are traveling with the kids, be sure to encourage them to drink water too.

Drinking water is essential to your metabolism and kidney functions.  Do not limit yourself to drinking only when you feel thirsty.

  • Sip on water throughout the day.

  • Dieticians recommend a minimum of 2 quarts of fluid a day.  If you are working out or perspire a great deal, you need more than 2 quarts to replenish your body.

  • There are many ways to get the recommended amount of fluids into your body.  Many foods contain water such as fruits and vegetables.

  • Drink smart and avoid high sodium, high sugar drinks, such as soda.

  • Remember moderation!  Soda and alcohol are not prohibited but should be treated as a treat not a thirst quencher.

It's easy to keep moving, even when you're on the road.
