Kinky Vacations

Smooth out your vacation kinks.

I don't know about you, but if I take a road trip or fly on a plane flight that is more than two hours or has one or more connections, my muscles are screaming "How much longer?"as loudly as my kids.

I go to stand up and find that my back muscles think that a 45 degree angle is upright. By the time we get to unloading the luggage , no valet can offer me the muscular assistance that I really need. If they could, I'd tip him my entire wallet! But now I carry an essential tool that saves me every time. It's a travel-size foam roller. Most foam rollers, used for deep tissue self-massage, are 3 feet long and 6 inches around and not suitable for the suitcase. The portable foam roller that I carry is 12 inches long, light as a feather, and fits right into my backpack.

Part of my main goal on a vacation is to RELAX and if my muscles end up tighter than when I left home because of an uncomfortable plane ride, my odds of returning home relaxed diminish even before I leave the airport.

So now, as soon as we are all settled in our vacation spot, I unpack my mini roller and start rolling!  Up and down my back, neck and legs...instant relief! I always say that rolling on my foam roller is like having an endorphin cocktail. Within five minutes of rolling, my muscles instantly release. And when my muscles relax, I can relax.
