My family and I recently took a trip back to the United States, a twenty-one hour journey, including the layover. For weeks, I loathed the day this would actually happen, simply because the sixteen hour direct flight portion of the trip seemed mind boggling to me. To top it off, I would be flying solo with two of my three children, as my husband had already taken my youngest over with him a week before.
As panic began to settle in days before the flight, I did what I normally do...began the soothing process of packing the suitcases and carry-ons.
Yes, I love packing. It's so methodical. When it came time to packing the kids' carry-ons, I put in what we normally do...a new activity coloring book, earphones, iPods and a reading book. Fast forward sixteen hours...the carry-ons were never opened. Not once. I didn't need to bring anything! My first favorite travel item for kids...

I doubt I am the only one who starts every trip or vacation exhausted. If it isn't a 6 AM flight which means getting up at 4 AM, then it's always a matter of lying in bed all night wondering what I forgot. List or no list, it seems something is left out of the mix and it's usually a toiletry. When traveling with kids, the chances of forgetting one of these essentials doubles or triples exponentially.
My teen daughter and I both recently tried Wicked Audio's Evac Headphones and if they can pass both our scrutiny with flying colors, then there's a good chance they will pass yours too. In fact, it was no small task even getting them back from my daughter, so that says quite a bit. She owns and typically enjoys other brands that costs four times as much, so Wicked Audio must be on to something with these much more affordable over the ear, headphones.
Monitoring a baby is hard work, especially if you know they’re of the age where they’re apt to get into trouble when you’re getting a drink of water or trying to grab that much needed bathroom break—and especially that much needed nap. And baby monitors can be somewhat clumsy and cumbersome to install, and are often not portable.
