For most Texans, the simple statement, 'Remember the Alamo' evokes strong feelings of pride. But for those non-Texans, the Alamo may just be a pretty, white, historical building in the center of downtown San Antonio that someone told them they should go see. Am I right? Well, hopefully after this article, the Alamo becomes a top destination that you want to see!
When we road trip, we almost always go north or to the east. I don’t think we have road tripped to the west past New Orleans, LA in years and years. This summer we had the opportunity to head west and visit San Antonio, TX because we won a Visit San Antonio Sweepstakes through Mother of All Trips.
JFK is a cultural icon. He still embodies mystery, power, and the importance of looking good on TV. Jackie Kennedy set the standard for Presidential wives and the importance of being stylish but "real". Together they created a White House culture that valued the arts. So, even though I wasn't even a twinkle in my then kindergarten-aged mother's eye when JFK was assasinated I was really excited about the opportunity to see the JFK Tribute in Ft. Worth the day after it was dedicated.
Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest city in the United States. It is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions in the world, and the Johnson Space Center, NASA’s base for Mission Control.
