Local Miami Hotspot for Seafood and Live Music

BlackPoint2Take a step off the tourist path at the Black Point Ocean Grill in Cutler Bay, FL.  This hotspot is at the Black Point Marina, where locals and visitors dock and launch their boats. Take a step away from the traditional Miami attractions to experience great local seafood and entertainment.
Food & Music

The waterfront restaurant features your standard seafood fare, including my favorites conch fritters, lobster bisque and fish tacos. Appetizers, beginning at $8.50, tend to be plentiful, with the fried calamari getting great recommendations. Salads, sandwiches and burgers present a variety of ways of enjoying locally caught fish. The entrees are around $15 and provide a filling option for lunch or dinner.

Live music, with Buffet-style singing, gives the Ocean Grill the “in the Keys” feel that locals love and out-of-towners travel to experience. Booths, high-tops, tables and bar stools provide adequate space to dine, sip a drink or simply enjoy the entertainment. A decent cocktail and beer menu adds to the tropical feeling.

Eyes Open for Swimming Friends
Keep your eyes open as you dine along the waterfront. Dolphins and manatees are often spotted and give the kids much entertainment.BlackPoint

Cook Your Catch
Whether you’re aboard a fishing charter boat or heading out on your own, fishermen are invited to bring their freshly cleaned catch to the Ocean Grill to be cooked as requested.  What a great way to end a fabulous fishing day!

How & When to Get There
The Black Point Ocean Grill is about 35 miles south of Miami Beach, a ~50 car ride. It is not accessible by public transportation.
