The Hale Koa Hotel is a five star military resort found in Honolulu, Hawaii; on one of the best stretches of beach in Waikiki. This exclusive resort is for military members, their families and military retirees. Although, the rooms are typical military rooms most have a balcony with beautiful views. Our room was on the corner so the balcony wrapped around. We had beautiful beach views and views of Honolulu.
The resort has tons of amenities including a spa! There are several restaurants, bars, lounges, and a couple of cheap snack bars. Each week guests can enjoy a luau, magic show, and comedy show. This resort contains three pools; a kiddie pool, adult-only pool (with hot tub), and a large pool for everyone. The Hale Koa has a fitness center, tennis facility, racquetball court, walking and running path, and sand volleyball courts. There is also an Exchange here where you can get tax-free souvenirs much cheaper than local gift shops.
The best part of all is the cost to stay here. It's based on the military member's rank. Having the room cost based on your pay makes Hawaii substantially more affordable for military families. Hale Koa offers special rates for military members deployed for 270 days or more. There is also a Survivor Family Program that gives families of fallen soldiers 50% off.
