Orlando: Number One for Family Travel

It doesn’t seem fair. Orlando has some of the biggest and best theme parks in the world, yet it keeps adding more and improving existing ones.

LEGOLAND is the latest and greatest theme park, designed specifically for families with kids ages 2-12. You can go on LEGO themed rides and get inspired to build at the miniature village. The park is adding a waterslide with a lazy river and a special toddler splash area.


If you have young kids, Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is probably your first stop at the Walt Disney World Resort. Now this area is doubling in size; look for a Storybook Circus with an interactive area and a low-key coaster.

Big kids who seek thrills at Universal’s Islands of Adventure will find them at the newly redesigned Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. At the adjacent sister park Universal Studios Florida, go on a 3-D adventure at the all new Despicable Me.

Animal lovers should head to Discovery Cove, where a new tropical rainforest environment, Freshwater Oasis, lets visitors get up close and personal with otters and monkeys.

At SeaWorld Orlando, right next door, TurtleTrek features sea turtles, and saltwater fish in one habitat, and manatees and freshwater fish in another.
