Hi, Kim. I don't have a "story to share," but I did write a whole kids' book on the subject (Too Much Flapdoodle, about a plugged-in boy who goes on summer vacation to stay with relatives who have NO electronics)--s o it's a topic near to my heart.

Keep up the struggle; it's worth it. Here's some empirical proof: "Over 50 years ago, psychologist E. Paul Torrance developed Creative Quotient (CQ)/Creative Thinking tests for young students to measure the creative index of young minds, and how creativity in early youth can blossom into future adult successes. Up until 1990, subsequent generations of children had increasing CQ scores. Then, the trend took a drastic reversal with steep declines in children’s CQ scores every year since. The cause of the decline is being attributed to the number of hours spent watching television, playing videogames, and surfing the internet, instead of engaging in brain-stimulati ng activities."

great video! We have drawn the line - no texting at the table. Last year, caught one of my kids texting at temple during Yom Kippur services.
