They have three locations, I’ve reviewed two of them.
Tucson, Arizona:The original Canyon Ranch is located in the Sonoran Desert. All Canyon Ranches offer jaw dropping spas and access to world class functional integrative care. A trip to Canyon Ranch saved my life a few years ago, you can read about it on Luxury Travel Mom. However each location has it’s own unique offerings. In Tucson you can hike in the desert, relax in the 80,000 square foot spa or even work on your golf game.
Miami Beach, Florida: The newest location is my favorite, mostly because it is the only Canyon Ranch that serves alcohol. This all-suite luxury boutique hotel sits on a sunny stretch of beach and has four pools. This is a family friendly property that even offers classes for children. I reviewed it sans kids but I did see many families there during my visit. The highlight of the spa is Aquavana, it sort of defies explanation. It’s free, it’s heaven, I still dream about it.
Lenox, Massachusetts:Tucked in to the lush Berkshire Mountains, the Lenox property really feels like a sleep away camp. On my recent visit there I went canoeing on a private lake, hiking in the woods and challenged myself on the adrenaline rush of the high ropes course.
All of your meals are included with your stay. The food is uber healthy and mostly tasty. By the end of my last stay however I was desperate for a Diet Coke. The fitness classes are also all complimentary. You have the choice of anything from yoga, to zumba, to boot camps. Before you arrive an activities concierge will contact you to help you plan your stay based on what you are hoping to gain from your time at Canyon Ranch.
My top 5 Favorite activities at Canyon Ranch:
The ropes course. This is in both Lenox and Tucson.
Cognitive Assessment.I’m a dork, I loved having my memory and executive function skills tested and quantified.
Lunch and Learn:The demonstration chef cooks a fab meal for you to eat, you really believe you can be healthy at home.
Thai Massage:Stretching and massage, all in one, hello heaven.
Paddleboard Yoga:Yes, those two words do go together. You really don’t fall in and it really feels amazing.
Next time you’re thinking girls getaway, think Canyon Ranch, it’s SO much more than a spa.
