Before we even left the city, my 11 year old was groaning about going.
"Why? Why do we have to go anywhere? Why can't we just stay home?"
"So you can stay and play video games all weekend?"
"Come on it'll be fun! We're going to eat wings and see the Niagara Falls!"
"(SIGH) It's just rocks and water, Mom. No big deal."
I swear, those pre-teen hormones are so annoying.
We arrived to Buffalo, had an awesome time at the Wings Festival, and I could see the smile sneaking in on my 11 year old's face. Than we heading to Niagara Falls the next day. He tried his hardest to be upset about it, but it's hard to be upset once you arrive to the State Park. It's really beautiful and impressive.
We decided to ride on the Maid of The Mist, a ferry boat that takes visitors up close to the falls. And as it got closer and closer to the falls, the mist hitting us like huge rain drops and soaking us in the process, I could hear my 11 year old laughing in delight, a huge smile spread across his face.
"So what did you think of the rocks and water?" I asked as we walked of the ferry.
"Awesome." he replied, "best ride ever."
Another successful adventure fulfilled.
