Chicago has no shortage of great dining options and both local residents and visitors look forward to Chicago Restaurant Week
for the chance to try some new dishes and restaurants. This year marks Chicago Restaurant Week’s 6th annual culinary celebration and features more than 250 restaurants throughout the Chicago area, 10 percent of which are new participating restaurants.
The 10-day dining celebration runs from February 1 through February 10; prix fixe menus start at $22 for lunch and $33/$44 for dinner, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity. For the chance to dine at restaurants such as The Signature Room at the 95th
floor of the Hancock building, those prices are a steal.
Among the new restaurants added to the dining line-up this year include Balsan
(at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel), bellyQ
, Dragon Ranch Moonshine & BBQ
, Fred's at Barneys New York
For a complete list of participating restaurants and to make reservations, visit the website
or download the Choose Chicago
mobile app to view listings and make reservations. Check back often as new restaurants and menus are added daily.
To kick off the event, First Bites
on Thursday, January 24, will allow guests to enjoy tasting portions from more than 50 participating restaurants in Chicago Restaurant Week in the magnificent Great Hall at Union Station. A portion of the proceeds generated by ticket sales to the First Bites event will benefit Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation
. More to Dining Out: Add Other Experiences
For those who want to make the experience even more memorable, make Chicago a "staycation" and book a great hotel in the city. Midwest TravelingMom Andrea recently stayed at The Trump Hotel and enjoyed being pampered at the Spa at Trump Hotel
. For those traveling with young kids, hit up the Chicago Children's Museum or venture about an hour northwest or west to the Discovery Center Museum
in Rockford or DuPage Children's Museum
