Planning to take your family to
Indianapolis? The city I called home before moving to China is one of the most family friendly in the country.
Here is a small sampling of things you can do with your family in Indianapolis in the downtown area besides visiting the
Lucas Oil Stadium. Check out
http://indydt.com/ or
http://visitindy.com/ for more:
White River State Park: There’s a nice downtown area along the White River that kids and parents can enjoy. Walk, feed the ducks or rent a surrey. It’s also the location of the NCAA headquarters and sports museum.
Indianapolis Zoo: Yes, it’s cold but go inside to see the sharks, penguins and other water animals. If the weather suits, check out the African animals in the Plains.
Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library – Central Library downtown. Has one of the awesomest kids sections where they can play with toys, educational games on computers, put themselves on a green screen, and yes, even read books!
Indianapolis Museum of Art: Free admission to this art museum with a gorgeous grounds not too far from downtown.
Indianapolis Children’s Museun: Just north of downtown, this children’s museum has 5 floors of fun, from Playscape for babies and toddlers to Science Works which will keep older kids occupied. That’s just to name a few.
