LeonNicaraguaLeon is Nicaragua's second largest city, but the one that was hit the hardest during the civil war years. This is the city known as the cultural center of Nicaragua due to all the universities, art galleries and museums. It is also home to the largest Cathedral in all of Central America.

The hotels here are different you can stay in a mansion or a converted convent with all the most luxurious amenities all for less than $100 per night. For more fun info on Nicaragua check out the my Nicaragua family travel guidebook.
