GranadaGranada is considered to be the gem of Nicaragua. It's colorful, colonial, cobblestoned, and small enough to enjoy the whole town without a car. Kids love all the small parks full of jewelry vendors, local street vendors and outdoor food stands selling fun Nicaraguan typical treats.

The hotels in Granada are luxurious for less than $100 per night including breakfast. Plus, one of the best tours to do is hop in a boat and ride around the 360 tiny islands with a gorgeous volcano in the backdrop. But don't take my word for it, check out the video. Plus, for even more fun facts and travel info check out the Nicaragua family travel guidebook.
