WestJet 737-700_at_YULWe all know that you can't fly without a valid and current passport, however WestJet has taken things one step further. Last month, the Canadian airline issued a news release advising Canadians that "their passport should be in perfect condition when travelling". If your passport is damaged in any way, you could experience significant delays at passport checkpoints in the airport. In addition, WestJet could even prohibit you from boarding or refuse entry or exit at border crossings. In other words - keep your passport in steller condition people!

If you are flying WestJet and are concerned about the condition of your travel documents Passport Canada recommends that Canadians apply for a new passport ASAP as it is the only universally accepted travel and identification document for Canadians.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post on my all-time favorite passport covers for kids. Thanks to their hardcovers  they protect the passports from sticky fingers, rips and tears. This is not to say that passport covers aren't important for mom and dad! There are plenty of options available out there, however I have gone through a couple of covers myself so I haven't quite found the 'perfect' cover for me.

Have any suggestions?

Good to know. I fly with them once in awhile, thanks for the headsup.

I have a jazzy, red, aligator textured passport cover. Custom Agents everywhere rip it off the minute they get it in hand. It makes it a teeny bit harder to scan the front page and they just aren't into it. Rosemary
