Ometepe Island is the only island in the world that is on a fresh water lake with TWO volcanoes on it. The views from the island and on the island are so spectacular that it really makes the trip to Nicaragua so worthwhile!
Plus, I bet many people didn't know. But Lake Nicaragua, which surrounds the island, is also the only fresh water lake in the world with fresh water sharks, how's that for interesting!
