Getting There: After spending two chaotic days in the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, we were looking forward to the serenity of the beaches of Phuket. Getting from Bangkok to Phuket is really easy. You can fly out of the major Suvarnabhumi Airport or the smaller and quieter Don Mueng Airport, anywhere from $50-$100 RT, depending on how early you book. We chose to fly our of Don Mueng on Nok Air. Don't expect bells and whistles on this flight. You'll get a piece of cake and some water, that's it unless you want to pay for additional drinks. But for an hour long flight, that suits just fine.
Remember our trip to Cleveland's House last month? We couldn't get enough of so naturally we had to pack up our bags and hit the road again for another trip, this time a weekend with the YMC ladies and their families. It was an incredible time filled with memories, laughter and wonderful friends.
Bangkok. The word alone can conjure up many images for people, especially after the release of The Hangover 2. Admittedly, I had some reservations about visiting, especially with three young children. It was never on our bucket list. We thought we'd end up on a European vacation before we'd end up in Thailand. However, an amazing flight opportunity from Etihad lured us in, and within a month, we were booked and ready for fourteen days in Thailand.
Recently while aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder on a cruise to Mexico, we decided to try a different kind of shore excursion. It exceeded our expectations. Usually we tend to do more independent shore exploring but this shore excursion proved to be an excellent choice for something done in a group and with planning. And for traveling families who might be concerned about safety while going ashore in Mexico, this gave an excellent and safe option.
