thWe, the Year 3 class of Ajman Academy in the United Arab Emirates, wrote this article in order to help parents know what to expect in Thailand when travelling with kids. Since we are 7-9 years old, we researched what to do in Thailand from a kid’s perspective. We had to do a lot of thinking and researching, learning about this country and choosing all the right information for families. We hope you enjoy our article as well as visiting Thailand.

The Culture of Thailand

For your next trip to Thailand, here is information that may be helpful. The Thai Currency is called baht and it is subdivided into 100 satang. The issuance of currency is the responsibility of The Bank of Thailand.

dan-hotelOpened in 1953, Dan Hotel Tel Aviv was the first luxury hotel in Israel and has maintained its status as the “Grande Dame” of Tel Aviv hotels ever since. Part of a 14 hotel chain operating in Israel, the Dan Tel Aviv hotel is in a category of its own in service and opulence in the Israeli hospitality industry.

The hotel exudes luxury inside and out - the front of the hotel that faces the Mediterranean Sea is painted by famed artist Yaakov Agam and changes colors depending on the time of day, while the interior of the hotel has an art-deco theme with black and cream colors and gold accents, with statues and paintings throughout.

Located in the heart of the city, with views of the Mediterranean Sea and next to the gorgeous sandy Bograshov and Frishman beaches, the hotel caters to both families and business travelers seeking added comforts away from home.

Great Wall Badaling1No family visit to Beijing, or China for that matter, is complete without a visit to the Great Wall. There are many options as to what part of the Great Wall you can visit, depending on whether you prefer rougher terrain, steeper climbs and more run down but quieter areas. However, if taking children to the Great Wall, one of the more touristy spots will be more convenient. We took our children, aged 7 and 3, with a 6 year old friend, to the popular Badaling.

First Ever Monster Jam in the Middle East

Submit to DeliciousSubmit to DiggSubmit to FacebookSubmit to Google BookmarksSubmit to StumbleuponSubmit to TechnoratiSubmit to TwitterSubmit to LinkedIn
1BlueThunderThe United Arab Emirates, is once again, part of a milestone.  On May 10th, Abu Dhabi hosted the first-ever Monster Jam in the Middle East.  Monster Jam is very well known in the United States.  My mother took me several times as a kid.  But what is lesser known is Monster Jam International.  You'll find them in Finland, Holland and Sweden...even down under in Australia!  And now, you'll find them returning to Abu Dhabi next year, opening their doors to the Middle East.

I introduced my family to Monster Jam this year, at the May 10th spectacular, and even treated them to the packed pit party where we rubbed shoulders with all the truck drivers and gawked at the massive trucks.  My daughter was impressed with the driver of El Toro Loco, Becky, who happens to be a woman.  She cheered for her all night, and I must say, the crowd did too.  She was quite impressive handling that truck, and created a frenzy when she stole the temporary lead from Blue Thunder.  Perhaps the overall biggest thrill for my kids was seeing and cheering for the Hot Wheels Team; including Superman, Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man.  Even my husband, a newbie to the Monster Truck scene, found himself thoroughly enjoying himself.

Family-Friendly Dan Panorama Hotel Tel Aviv, Israel

Submit to DeliciousSubmit to DiggSubmit to FacebookSubmit to Google BookmarksSubmit to StumbleuponSubmit to TechnoratiSubmit to TwitterSubmit to LinkedIn
dan-panorama1Dan Panorama Tel Aviv Hotel is a sophisticated luxury hotel that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and is close to many of the city’s best attractions. It can be found on the southern side of Tel Aviv’s busy coastal promenade, within walking distance to Old Jaffa and UNESCO’s White City, Nachlat Binyamin pedestrian mall, and the bohemian neighborhood of Neve Tzedek.

The hotel is recommended for families since it is situated in a quieter area of the promenade, away from the bars but is still central to attractions like the Carmel Market and HaTahana, a renovated railroad turned modern cultural and commercial center with stores, restaurants, markets, arts, and activities for children.

The hotel also faces the Charles Clore Garden, a 29.6-acre beachfront public park (a great place for kids to run around), and one of the city’s more popular beaches, Banana beach.
