Elena Sonnino is Italian by birth, and raised a world traveler. She believes in the power of active travel for families and as a way to explore and create long lasting memories. Her pursuit of active travel includes experiences like hiking trips, endurance running travel, culinary travel and beach or kayaking trips. (Although sometimes, especially when traveling solo, active can mean going to the spa or getting lost in a big city on purpose.)
She is a freelance writer, digital content strategist, runner, cancer survivor, and dream chaser. After twelve years as an educator, Elena builds capacity in others by empowering them to make every moment matter.
Being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 23 made Elena a fighter. She continues to foster self sufficiency as a Shot@Life Champion and as and for More Birthdays as a member of the American Cancer Society Blogger Advisory Council.
