The Chevy Volt: A Dashboard View
History Buff TravelingMomThe Chevy Volt: A Dashboard View

The thought of driving an electric car always seemed a little intimidating to me.  Is there a learning curve?  What happens when you are in the middle of the highway and the battery runs out?  When it comes to the technology of electric cars I am a bit of an auto-techno peasant but I  [ ... ]

“Spark” is a very appropriate name for Chevy’s first mini car built for North America.  I had the opportunity to test drive the 2013 Chevy Spark on a recent Chevy-sponsored retreat in Orlando.  Salsa red with an appealing, feisty look; I could see myself dashing around town in it jus [ ... ]

Walt Disney World Resort Holidays

IMG_0223A visit to Walt Disney World is magical any time of the year, but during the holidays, it's even more magical!  Not only are the parks decorated for the holidays, but each of the resorts are also decorated.  In addition, some of the resorts, such as the Beach Club and the Grand Floridian, also boast large, extra-special displays, including a giant carousel and a life-size gingerbread house!

There are also some special events during the parks.  At the Magic Kingdom, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is offered on select evenings, for an additional fee.  The party features a special version of Wishes (the fireworks show), a Christmas parade, hot chocolate and cookies, and snow even falls on Main Street.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is a must-see!  Once a display at Jennings Osborne's family home in Arkansas, the lights now make their home at Walt Disney World.  Every 10 minutes, the lights magically come to life and "dance" to holiday music.  This amazing display is included with admission to Walt Disney World.

At Epcot, the Candlelight Processional is my absolute favorite holiday event at Walt Disney World.  Featuring a special narrator, a 50-piece orchestra and a choir, the Candlelight Processional is a retelling of the story of Christmas.  It's included with admission, but is so popular that you should consider booking one of the dinner packages that are offered.

There's many more holiday happenings at the Walt Disney World resort.  What's your favorite?
