Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona, are two of the hottest towns in America—literally and figuratively—and both have several free attractions to help you have an affordable family vacation.
Located in eastern Arizona, Scottsdale is considered an upscale tourist destination. With its shopping, architecture, and pristine homes, it is a premiere example of Western-American style. Its climate includes mild winters and very warm summers. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Scottsdale was 19 degrees and the highest recorded temperature was a whopping 119. Though affluent, the artistic community of Scottsdale remains extremely diverse, particularly as regards contemporary art.
Scottsdale is adjacent to Phoenix, Arizona, the fifth most populous city in the United States. Its location on the northeast edge of the Sonoran Desert gives Phoenix the hottest climate in the nation – 120 degrees at times. Phoenix is also known for its political culture, having produced such notable leaders as John McCain and Sandra Day O’Connor. As evidenced by its free offerings, Phoenix shares a love of the arts with neighboring Scottsdale.

at AZ on the Rocks. It kicked our butt, but it was soooo fun. The staff is so supportive and
patient for newbies like us and made us feel very comfortable. The facility is just amazing and
they just got back their auto belay systems (which means you can climb on your own without someone
holding the ropes). It is fully air-conditioned (important when it is 1,000 degrees outside) and to
boot they have exercise equipment and full yoga program...This place ROCKS (pun intended)...For
