Cindy Richards is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist who serves as Editor-in-Chief for TravelingMom.com. She previously worked at Chicago’s two major newspapers, 15 years for the Chicago Sun-Times and two years for the Chicago Tribune. She found her passion for travel writer when she was an editor for the award-winning regional magazine, Chicago Parent. She has taught journalism in the graduate program at Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill School of Journalism.
In addition to writing the TravelingMom with Teens blog for TravelingMom, Cindy blogs at Wyndham’s Women on Their Way. She is the happily married mom of two well-traveled teens who rarely have time to travel with her anymore.
Deb is the full-time Director of Operations for TravelingMom and has 10 years of previous experience as a City Planner, Zoning Administrator and Geographic Information Systems Analyst. With a passion for gadgets, apps and all things ‘techy’, Deb writes as Technology TravelingMom and has also blogged since 2007, first as Mom of 3 Girls - and more recently at her product review/lifestyle/ parenting blog, Just a mom’s take on things...
With 3 school-age daughters, Deb's life is filled with sparkles and lots of drama, but she finds the time to also serve on the Board of Directors for her local AYSO soccer region and to travel as much as she can.
Barb Likos is the Director of Social Influence for Traveling Mom, where she leads a team of seven fabulous channel experts to evaluate, understand and advise the network on how social media and travel interconnect. Barb has spent the past 14 years fascinated with harnessing the power of the internet to connect with special needs families and writes as Wheeling TravelingMom and Mom Off Track.
Barb holds a Masters degree in Education, and has turned her passion for social media into her profession to allow her time to homeschool her youngest son, who was born with spina bifida, and to spend more time with her family.
Lara DiPaola is the Director of Partner Relations for TravelingMom.com and also serves as Director of Marketing for a D.C. -based national daily deal site. Receiving her first award for writing at the tender age of 9, Lara has had a lifelong passion for the written word. Spending her early 20s living in a small town in southern Spain sparked an unquenchable wanderlust.
Joining the TravelingMom team has brought these two passions together for Lara. She is a mom of four, who carves out as much time as she can for her writing which includes penning the “10 Best Washington DC” series for Travel Media Group at USA Today, her personal blog Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom, writing for TravelingMom as “Deals Traveling Mom” and hitting the road as a contributor at SheBuysCars.com.
Teresa Shaw is Web Content Director for TravelingMom, where she leads and manages a team of section editors to ensure that original, quality content is posted daily. She also blogs as Working TravelingMom.
Teresa is a Michigan-based journalist with more than 15 years of professional experience. She holds a bachelor's degree in English language and journalism, and has been published in various print publications and websites, including Prevention, AnnArbor.com, and Homewood Suites' Suite Living website.
Karin Sheets is Director of Technology for TravelingMom. She develops and implements web strategy, oversees website design, SEO, technology and functionality. A Seattle native, she has worked in technology and web development for 17 years on wide variety of projects for the government and medium to large companies nationwide.
A married mom of two, including one daughter with profound special needs, Karin writes as Special Needs TravelingMom, encouraging all families to travel and live the adventure of life. She also writes for her own blog, SpecialNeedsTravelMom.com and has contributed to a number of websites, including Snowmamas.com.
Elena Sonnino is the director of Internal Relations at TravelingMom, facilitating best practices and network engagement, and she also writes about living the dolce vita while traveling as Ciao Traveling Mom. She uses her 12 years of teaching and educational leadership experience to foster self-sufficiency and empower others to make every moment matter at LiveDoGrow.com and JustBeEnough.com.
